Audience

The Audience Voice Processor provides the most powerful and robust noise suppression technology available today. Whether the noise source is in the caller's environment, or coming in over the cellular networks from the other end of the call, the Audience Voice Processor instantaneously reduces multiple noise sources, such as airport PA systems, restaurant noise, car noise, ring tones and acoustic echo, from the call. The result is clear voice communications over mobile networks or VoIP applications, such as PC telephony and video conferencing, in places before unimagined.

The Audience Voice Processor integrates easily into all mobile handset architectures and has been designed with both analog and digital interfaces to provide maximum flexibility and compatibility with all cellular technologies. The diagram below illustrates a typical implementation of the Audience Voice Processor. Voice and background noise enter the voice processor through two microphones and leave as a single clean signal through a microphone output. The Audience Voice Processor is controlled by the Baseband via an I²C or SPI control interface. The digital PCM I/O interface may be optionally used for noise suppression and other features such as advanced Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) and other voice enhancement features. Such "dropped-in design" capability simplifies the system design and does not require any system software or firmware modifications.
