Senior VLSI Engineer

Job Description

The Senior VLSI Engineer will work as part of a team on the digital design and verification of ASIC/ASSP mixed signal SOC projects. This person will be responsible for the definition, design, and RTL coding of multiple blocks in complex SOC designs as well as taking the design through RTL verification, logic synthesis, and silicon validation stages.

Responsibilities include:

  • RTL module definition, design, implementation, verification, synthesis, and validation of digital blocks on complex ASIC/ASSP mixed signal SOC’s

Experience

Required

  • Strong technical skills in the design of ASIC/ASSPs, specifically in digital design, verification, synthesis, and silicon validation
  • Direct experience with HDL coding (verilog), synthesis tools, static timing tools, formal equivalency checkers, and power optimization tools
  • Proficiency in scripting within and between digital design tools
  • Has taken a block from design through silicon validation

Desired

  • DSP or embedded processor micro-architecture design knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge in digital, analog, and mixed signal SOC designs
  • Experience with evaluation, acquisition, and integration of 3rd party IP
  • Experience in making HW/FW tradeoffs in order to satisfy competing cost/performance requirements.
  • Ability to find simple and cost-effective solutions to complex problems
  • Background in ASIC/ASSPs targeted at signal processing
  • Background in the telecommunication, wireless industry, consumer electronics
  • Background in audio processing/processors
  • FPGA prototyping design experience
  • Board design experience

Education Requirments

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study

Desired

  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study

Education Requirments

  • Proven experience in all phases of ASIC/ASSP development for cost-effective embedded and/or audio signal processing 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Team player with strong initiative
