Product Manager - Audio

Job Description

The Product Manager will be an integral part of the marketing team, managing the product lifecycle of Audience’s software releases across hardware platforms.   Working closely with engineering, sales and product marketing, product management is responsible for gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and managing product releases to meet overall business strategy and goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the core audio algorithms of the Audience voice processor product line through the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • Work collaboratively with Product Marketing to specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and prospects.
  • Manage software releases by working closely with the engineering and Quality Engineering team, balancing customer needs, engineering realities, and market requirements. 
  • Maintain MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification.
  • Manage the delivery of customer documentation through technical publications.
  • Run evaluation programs with early-stage products and samples.
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition.

Experience

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in a job in audio signal processing
  • Development or application engineering experience in digital signal processing
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Product Manager
  • Successfully defined and launched multiple products into market
  • Examples and at least one sample of an effective product management document delivered in the past

Desired

  • Experience in the mobile telecommunications industry

Education Requirments

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • MBA or equivalent business experience

Desired

  • MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Understanding of noise reduction and echo cancellation algorithms
  • Must be able to travel 20% of the time
