Product Applications Engineer

Job Description

As part of a dynamic technical support team, the Product Applications Engineer will be providing expert customer technical support for the Audience leading edge product lines, as well as applications development and documentation. The successful candidate must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time. Position will have a serious impact on the overall success of company operations. Position reports to Director of Applications Engineering.  Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting customers with the integration of Audience products into their systems involving embedded DSP software and ICs
  • Evaluating new system configurations using 3rd party devices
  • Developing product based reference designs and tools
  • Participating in creating documents and white papers

Experience, Skills and Education Required

  • Experience in applications engineering
  • Strong system design experience in hardware and software
  • Consumer Electronics or Telecom Semiconductor / IC support experience
  • Expertise in debugging hardware (PCB level) and software bugs
  • Familiarity with debug tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit emulators
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study and at least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Self motivated and strong commitment to job completion
  • Analytical, thorough, resourceful, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to successfully meet deadlines
  • Team and customer focus

Experience, Skills and Education Desired

  • Experience in cellular phone baseband chips (i.e Qualcomm, TI, Broadcom, etc)
  • Audio expertise including CODECs, AEC, and noise reduction
  • Acoustic expertise
  • PCB layout
  • Windows GUI development
