Director of Sales, Asia Pacific (APAC)

Job Description

Director of Sales, APAC will be responsible for sales, and major accounts management with wireless handset OEM's, service providers within Asia with focus on Japan, Taiwan, and China. The candidate must be willing to travel up to 50%. The position offers potential to locate in Asia aligned with the company's sales growth and will have a great impact on the overall success of the company. As a result the position carries with it the potential for high visibility and opportunity to benefit from Audience’s fast growth. Reports to the VP of Sales and Business Development

  • Formulate the overall objectives and strategy to develop high-value relationships within all targeted areas of the accounts.
  • Understand customers' culture, product portfolio, competitive position, financial state, investment plan, organization structure and key decision makers.
  • Make and develop contacts with selected handset OEM's, service providers, and strategic partners.
  • Regularly interact with executives of major customers, wireless service providers, and other stakeholders. Interactions normally involve controversial situations, customer negotiations, or influencing and persuading senior level managers.
  • Analyze existing and anticipated audio requirements and promote company products and services to fill such requirements.
  • Maintain technical proficiency and consult with selected handset OEM's, service providers, and strategic partners regarding use of company products and services.
  • Demonstrate and provide instruction on the use of Audience products and solutions.
  • Keep informed of new products and other information of interest to customers.
  • Participate in the preparation and implementation of sales and business development plans, sales forecasts and strategies.
  • Publish sales activity reports, as required.

Key Experience

Required

  • 5 to 10 years of sales experience, preferably with an embedded software or custom IC technology or services company into consumer electronics markets.
  • Proven sales management skills
  • Proven ability to meet sales objectives and quotas

Desired

  • Experience selling into Asia mobile phone companies
  • Ability to grow into more senior management

Education Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related area.

Desired

  • Masters degree in business
